Mobilicity and Facebook today announced that Mobilicity is offering their customers yet another way to stay connected. They’ve launched a new Facebook mobile application for phones that have Java capabilities. As a promotion, they are enabling customers to download and use the app for free. Also, for the first 3 months, users will incur no data charges from using it.
The app is designed to bring the popular features found on most smartphones Facebook apps to other Java powered phones. It includes several new and unique features that enable people to stay socially connected. Included are:
•   ability to view photos from your mobile phone,
•   ability to sync your local address book contacts with your Facebook friends,
•   Facebook login to third party services within the application, such as news, sports, games, and weather
According to a Mobilicity press release “The new Facebook application is optimized to use as little data as possible while providing the great user experience mobile applications offer. The application uses less data than other similar applications or mobile sites, enabling it to be much cheaper for people to use when the trial period ends. “
